A Moodboard Is a Specification, Not a Collage
Pinterest boards inspire; they don't get built. An architect's moodboard has a different job: to prove that a set of real materials — with real dimensions, finishes and prices — work together and fit the budget. Done well, it replaces three meetings.
Build the Palette From Real Materials
Start with the hero surface and build outward. Pull a marble or stone from the marble catalog, add a floor from the parquet collection, a wall or worktop from ceramic or porcelain, and soften it with a rug and drape from the carpet and fabric collections.
Because each swatch carries its real spec and price, the board stays buildable — not a wish list the client can't actually order.
Crop the Exact Swatch
Stone and wood are non-uniform. The vein or grain you specify is rarely the one in a generic catalog photo. Crop the exact area you want from a real slab so the client sees the piece they will get.
